There is over £3.6m of Unclaimed Rebates that is equal to over 25,000 units

Four valid reasons that Housebuilders haven't claimed their rebates

Paul Alexander have recently completed a survey of over 1,000 housebuilders in the UK, to which we received a huge response. 

Of the 58% of all housebuilders that responded, do not claim either part or all of the rebates that they are due from their Internet Service Provider (ISP) that pay you (Rebates) for installing their infrastructure for them in your homes.

 

The response was for a number of reasons all of which are very valid reasons as we know from our own experience of dealing with ISP's.

These four were the most common;

  1. "My ISP is difficult to deal with and their rebate claim process appears complex"

  2. "Our projects run for that long (3 – 10 years some of them) we sometimes forget to put in the claim because of that length of time and people have moved on in the business"

  3. "The person who is responsible in our company for the rebate claims no longer works for us and we haven’t replaced them"

  4. "We don’t know who to speak with in our ISP and find it very difficult to find the right contact"

 

Whilst these are all very valid reasons, let us help you to make sure you claim your rebates.

We are doing this for 16 national Housebuilders on two different commercial models of which you can choose from.

1. The Fee Based Model - We charge a 20% fee of all rebates that are claimed. For example, the £140.00 per unit rebate, that’s £28.00 per unit cost to you for our time, effort and resource in the work we provide. Group discounts are available also.

However, most housebuilders do not install the ISP’s ONT on the wall (the box at the end of the fibre in the home – see our Whitepaper for details) which will get you a further £25.00 if you install it for them.

The installation costs of the ONT costs you nothing to install as you are already installing their fibre at that point for them.

So for a two-minute outlay of your staffs work putting the ONT on the wall in the home, your fee with us is covered.

A full statement of works is provided with every invoice which details the site, project, number of units, provider reference and value claimed

2. The Service Based Model - Is a 'Retainer' based on Unlimited Rebate Claims within bandings.

For example, if you build 500 - 999 homes a year, our Service Model Charge is £1,000 per month + VAT retainer.

Below are our Retainer Charges which include full Account Management and all administration and communication works with your Service Provider(s) along with full statement details as per the Fee Based model;
 

  • Building 500 - 999 Homes per year = £1,000 per month + vat retainer

  • Building 1,000 - 1,999 Homes per year = £2,000 per month + vat retainer

  • Building 2,000- 2,999 Homes per year = £3,000 per month + vat retainer

  • Building 3,000 - 4,000 Homes per year = £4,000 per month + vat retainer


Remember: You can ONLY claim your rebates when ALL of your houses are built in most cases. 
 

This is when your 'Quality Certificate' is issued to you from your Provider. The start of your 12 month claim submission window.

Miss that window, lose your rebates !!!

However, in this day and age of transparency and fairness and ensuring that everyone is playing their part, why can't Openreach as in this example, play a more proactive part with Housebuilders, so that they don't miss their deadlines?

  1. We are claiming on their behalf all outstanding and historical rebates for them up to the last 12 months since their project completion.
     

  2. We are managing going forward all their ISP rebates on all current and future schemes so they miss not one single rebate that they have worked for in good faith with their ISP agreement
     

  3. We are freeing up all of their resource and time for admin staff that don’t have time to chase their ISP for rebates when they could spend their time doing more fruitful things that are far more productive for their company
     

  4. We send a report each month to show what is outstanding and what is being claimed / due and ensure payment comes in from said ISP and do all of the chasing for you.
